The College of Charleston equestrian team, ranked third nationally, achieved victories over top-ranked Lynchburg and Centenary with identical scores of 7-3. These results mark the second time this spring that Charleston has defeated a No. 1 ranked opponent.

Charleston’s overall record now stands at 6-3 for the season.

In their matchup against Lynchburg, Charleston led 3-2 at the break, with points from Camilla Murray, Maddi Cardelli, and Olivia Welsh. The team continued its strong performance in the flat event by securing four out of five available points to secure the win.

Facing Centenary on Saturday, Charleston again took an early lead by winning three points in fences through Olivia Lonneman, Maddi Cardelli, and Samantha Aisenberg. The Cougars repeated their dominance in the flat event by taking four of five points to complete a sweep for the weekend.

The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) regular season will conclude on March 13 at Centenary.
