U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account on October 17, 2025, addressing issues related to repeat offenders, public safety, and girls’ sports.

In a post made at 15:34 UTC, Mace wrote: “Right across the South Carolina line in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County let Iryna Zarutska’s killer roam free after 14 arrests. Now another repeat offender was just arrested for stabbing two people and walked free in hours. Repeat offenders don’t need another warning … they”.

An hour later at 16:37 UTC, she stated: “There’s nothing controversial about the truth, putting America First, or protecting the homeland.”

Later that day at 17:05 UTC, Mace commented on athletic opportunities for military children: “Military children are no exception. Girls’ sports must remain for girls, across every level of education, competition, and fairness. We introduced the Protecting Girls’ Sports for Military Kids Act to ensure in @DeptofWar schools athletic opportunities for girls are preserved”.

Mace has served as a member of Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously held office in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
