U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district, used her social media platform on January 23, 2026, to address issues ranging from online abuse to law enforcement safety and justice system concerns.
In a post published at 15:40 UTC, Mace highlighted the experience of Paris Hilton regarding deepfake technology: “Paris Hilton stood before us and revealed a devastating truth: over 100,000 explicit deepfake images of her are circulating online. None are real. None are consensual.
We stood shoulder to shoulder with members from both sides of the aisle because this isn’t about politics,” she wrote.
Later that day at 16:28 UTC, Mace commented on an incident involving law enforcement in Hardeeville: “Reports of a police officer shot in Hardeeville this morning responding to a call at a gas station.
We are praying for the officer involved, for a full and quick recovery. This is reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officers face every single day in service to keeping”.
At 17:00 UTC on the same day, she posted another message questioning the current state of the justice system: “What kind of justice system silences victims and protects predators? Not one the Founders envisioned.”
Nancy Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after previously representing her district in the South Carolina House of Representatives between 2018 and 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace is also a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1999.
