U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district, addressed several national issues in a series of posts on October 12, 2025. The tweets focused on law enforcement operations during the federal government shutdown, support for military families, and concerns about bias on Wikimedia.
In her first post at 14:23 UTC, Mace commented on ongoing immigration enforcement activities despite the government shutdown: “Even during the Schumer Shutdown, @ICEgov is still taking down violent criminals, traffickers, and child predators. Law and order doesn’t shut down, even when Democrats do.”
Later that day at 15:00 UTC, she called for financial institutions to assist military families affected by the shutdown: “Our servicemembers put their lives on the line to protect our country, the least we can do is protect them when Washington fails. We are calling on financial institutions to stand with our military families during the Schumer Shutdown and ensure they are not punished for a https://t.co/UfO8jNZqYB”
At 15:26 UTC, Mace raised concerns about Wikipedia’s content practices alongside another member of Congress: “Along with @RepComer, we’re getting to the bottom of the widespread misinformation, biases, and woke agendas being pushed by Wikimedia. Americans deserve facts, not your political opinions. https://t.co/T4wCb8itAN”
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after serving in the state legislature from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. In addition to her legislative career, she graduated from The Citadel in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
