U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on September 19 and 20, 2025, addressing political outrage and criminal justice concerns.

On September 19, Mace commented on the perceived priorities of a political party with the post: “Imagine a world where an entire party is more outraged by a late night show ending than the assassination of an innocent man. Oh wait…”.

Shortly after midnight on September 20, she referenced a dispute involving another member of Congress: “Nancy Mace and Cory Mills clash as Mills defends Somalia’s Congresswoman. There, we fixed it for you @politico.”

Later that morning, Mace highlighted the case of Iryna Zarutska and raised concerns about repeat offenders: “Iryna Zarutska could have been any one of our daughters, friends, or sisters. Her killer had fourteen prior arrests and was still free to walk the streets. This should have never happened. We must fight for LAW AND ORDER so tragedies like this don’t keep happening. Enough is”.

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace graduated from The Citadel in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
