Representative Nancy Mace, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, recently shared a series of statements on social media addressing issues of remembrance, accountability, and immigration policy.
On July 14, 2025, Mace posted a message commemorating Corey and his family: “A year later, we still lift up Corey and his family in prayer and we remember not just his sacrifice, but his courage. This kind of bravery doesn’t fade with time, it echoes.”
Later that day, at 21:34 UTC, she commented on the principle of legal accountability with the statement: “No one is above the law, not even staff hiding behind the Resolute Desk.”
At 22:26 UTC on July 14, Mace addressed sanctuary city policies and legislative efforts to counteract them: “Sanctuary policies protect criminals, not women. We introduced the No Tax Breaks for Sanctuary Cities Act to end handouts for cities who shield violent illegal aliens. If you want them, you’re responsible for them.”
Nancy Mace replaced former U.S. Congress member Joe Cunningham in 2021 after previously serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel in 1999 with a BS degree.
