Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on her social media account on December 6, 2025, including SNAP benefit fraud, animal testing, and a tribute to Gen. Glenn Walters.
In a post made at 2:45 a.m. UTC, Mace highlighted concerns about fraudulent activity affecting state residents dependent on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). She stated, “Nearly 550,000 South Carolinians depend on SNAP, and our state saw 4,209 stolen benefits in just the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2025. We’re done letting fraudsters rip off American families who actually need this help. This is exactly why we introduced the FAIR Act to require https://t.co/ZNIczw6Uvn”.
Later that day at 1:20 p.m. UTC, Mace posted a brief message regarding government-funded scientific research practices: “End barbaric taxpayer-funded animal testing. https://t.co/spAvBCkPyr”.
At 1:40 p.m. UTC, she offered congratulations to Gen. Glenn Walters for his leadership at The Citadel: “Congratulations to Gen. Glenn Walters on an extraordinary tenure leading @Citadel1842.
His steady leadership, service to our nation, and commitment to developing principled leaders will leave a lasting legacy in Charleston and beyond.
Wishing him the very best in retirement.”
Mace has served as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 1st District since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
