Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district, recently shared updates on legislative initiatives and local events through her social media posts.
On March 21, 2026, Mace announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at protecting minors from certain medical procedures. She stated, “We introduced the Childhood Genital Mutilation Prevention Act because children deserve protection, not experimentation. A child cannot consent to the permanent, irreversible destruction of their own body. Our bill criminalizes these procedures on minors, strips federal funding,”.
In another post dated March 22, 2026, she commented on a political issue involving Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and gender definitions: “Tim Walz may have struggled with this question, even after he had nine months to study, but South Carolinians know what a woman is.”
Later that day, Mace highlighted her office’s participation in a healthcare event in St. George: “Our office attended the MUSC Health Primary Care Ribbon Cutting in St. George. This is a huge win for the Lowcountry, more healthcare access in a rural area where it’s needed most. Families shouldn’t have to drive an hour for a doctor’s appointment or skip care because it’s too”.
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
