Nancy Mace announces new anti-terrorism legislation and shares community support

U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, shared several updates on her social media account on December 18, 2025. The posts highlighted both public support for her leadership and legislative initiatives she is advancing in Congress.

In a tweet posted at 17:45 UTC, Mace quoted Mara Brockbank of the Carolina Republican Coalition as featured in the Wall Street Journal: “She’s a powerhouse. There’s no midway with Nancy. I like her…I think she’s feisty,” said Mara Brockbank in the Wall Street Journal, who leads the Carolina Republican Coalition in Charleston. Mace added her gratitude to supporters: “Thank you to the patriots in Charleston and across SC-01 for standing with us as we.”

Later that day, at 19:09 UTC, Mace made a brief post stating: “That’s a man”.

At 19:45 UTC, she announced new legislation via another tweet: “INTRODUCING: The Preventing the Recognition of T*rrorist States Act. This bill would designate the Taliban as a Foreign T*rrorist Organization, the Taliban-run government of Afghanistan as a State Sponsor of T*rrorism, and prohibit federal agencies from taking actions”.

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and resides in Charleston. In addition to her political career, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
