Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing national security, government loyalty, and federal funding for military technology.
On May 22, 2026, Mace wrote: “This is long overdue. For too long, foreign-born members of this government have made clear their loyalty isn’t with the American people. We see it every day. We already require this for the President and Vice President. It’s time we required it for Congress, federal judges,” referencing existing constitutional requirements for presidential eligibility and suggesting similar standards be applied to other branches of government.
Later that evening, on May 23, 2026, she posted: “Reminder for everyone (specifically Kamala Harris): it’s not ‘enjoy the long weekend.'”
In a subsequent tweet from May 23, 2026, Mace announced federal funding secured for her district: “$1.9 MILLION secured for Charleston County and Joint Base Charleston. Drone integration across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties. Drones are the future of warfare and national security. South Carolina is going to lead the way in military readiness.”
Mace has served in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously held office in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
