Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, recently shared her views on social media regarding several political developments. Mace, who succeeded Joe Cunningham in Congress and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020, took to Twitter to express her opinions.
On July 3, 2025, Mace commented on the remarks made by Hakeem Jeffries about a deportation policy known as OBBB. She stated that despite “9 hours of Hakeem Jeffries calling it a ‘deportation machine,'” “the OBBB has more support than ever.” She concluded with a scorecard-style comment: “OBBB: 1 Hakeem: 0.”
In another tweet posted shortly after, Mace highlighted President Trump’s actions regarding international affairs. She remarked that while others merely made promises, Trump demonstrated leadership by facilitating the release of Edan Alexander after nearly two years in captivity. Mace described this event as “proof of @POTUS’s decisive leadership and action.”
Later that evening, Mace again referenced Jeffries in relation to OBBB. In a brief statement she suggested that Jeffries inadvertently became an advocate for the policy he criticized by stating “Hakeem Jeffries just became the OBBB’s top spokesperson and he doesn’t even realize it.”
Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Nancy Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
