Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, used her social media platform on April 13, 2026, to comment on Congressional standards and recent legislative actions regarding sexual misconduct in Congress.
In one post dated April 13, 2026, Mace stated: “Congress has such a low bar, the least we could say is r*pists and s*xual predators shouldn’t serve. Expel every single one.”
Later that day, she addressed the outcome of a House vote concerning transparency around sexual harassment records: “357 members of Congress voted to kill our resolution to expose sexual harassment records in Congress. They chose secrecy over accountability. They chose to protect themselves and their friends. We tried to bring the truth forward and show the American people what is happening” (April 13, 2026).
In another update posted on April 13, 2026, Mace shared details about her office’s constituent services: “LOWCOUNTRY UPDATE Weekly Report from Congresswoman Nancy Mace CONSTITUENT SERVICES Our casework team is managing 570 active cases and has now returned $39,405,884 directly to constituents owed money by the federal government, a $642,000 increase from last week alone, crossing”.
Mace has represented South Carolina’s coastal district since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 before moving to Charleston. In addition to her political career, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
