Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, used her social media platform on April 28, 2026, to comment on national and local issues, including the ongoing shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), educational standards, and the historical significance of South Carolina.

In a post published at 18:01 UTC, Mace addressed the status of DHS funding, stating: “73 days. The Left has kept the Department of Homeland Security shutdown for 73 days now. All because they don’t like ICE. All because they would rather put illegal immigrants above the safety and security of our country and American citizens. Fund ALL of DHS now.”

Later that evening at 19:00 UTC, she commented on an unspecified incident involving an educational institution with the message: “The Quality Learing Center must have skipped this lesson.”

At 20:00 UTC, Mace posted about her home state’s contribution to American history, writing: “America was built on the back of South Carolina. South Carolina STRONG.”

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace is also an alumna of The Citadel, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
