U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, posted a series of statements on her social media account criticizing political figures and ongoing events in U.S. politics.

On October 17, 2025, Mace commented on the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew by stating, “Prince Andrew can give up the titles all he wants but what he really deserves is a cold, dark cell.” Later that day, she addressed actions by Democratic lawmakers during an apparent government shutdown: “Democrats are dragging out their own shutdown so they can play dress-up at a communist protest. Schumer’s approval is tanking, his shutdown is backfiring, and like clockwork, he’s blaming President Trump.”

Continuing her criticism into the following day, Mace wrote: “Trump Derangement Syndrome has become a health hazard.” This post was made on October 18, 2025.

Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham and previously represented her community in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
