Rep. Nancy Mace, U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district, has recently addressed several issues on her social media account, including Senate actions regarding Department of Homeland Security (DHS) paychecks, Democratic Party policies on women’s rights, and a meeting with a nonprofit supporting veterans and first responders.
On March 23, 2026, Mace criticized the Senate’s approach to DHS paychecks and their own compensation: “The Senate is holding DHS paychecks hostage while blocking Senator Kennedy’s resolution to withhold their own. They work for themselves. Not you.”
Continuing her commentary the following day, Mace questioned the Democratic Party’s stance on women’s rights in a post dated March 24, 2026: “The hypocrisy is staggering. The Democratic Party claims to be pro-woman, yet they want to take away women’s rights. They say they protect underage girls, yet they’re pushing to put men in our bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms. Women’s spaces matter. Girls’ safety matters.”
Later that morning, she shared details about her engagement with Capt. Rick Roberts of “Those Who Served,” a South Carolina nonprofit: “We met with Capt. Rick Roberts, President and Founder, of ‘Those Who Served.’ A South Carolina nonprofit dedicated to serving Veterans and First Responders by providing meaningful, therapeutic outdoor experiences to support Veterans and First Responders struggling with PTSD.”
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 before settling in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
