Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, posted a series of statements on her social media accounts criticizing recent actions by the Senate and addressing national security and election integrity.
On April 1, 2026, Mace wrote, “The 14th Amendment was never intended as a loophole. The Supreme Court must get this right.”
Later that day, she commented on the Senate’s decision to take a break amid ongoing national security concerns: “Walking away should never be an option when national security is on the line. The Senate did it anyway.
Article II, Section 3 exists precisely for moments like this. The President has the authority to call the Senate back and he should use it. Keep them there until every dollar” (April 1, 2026).
In another post on April 2, Mace criticized the Senate’s handling of election legislation: “The SAVE America Act is a historic chance to secure our elections and ensure only American citizens vote in American elections, yet the Senate refuses to get it done. Instead of sending this bill to President Trump’s desk to have it signed into law, they took a two-week break.”
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
