U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, shared a series of posts on her official X account addressing recent legislative actions and interactions with colleagues.

On January 22, 2026, Mace criticized House Democrats for their stance on voting legislation. She wrote, “198 House Democrats voted AGAINST a bill to require proof of citizenship to vote. They know their jobs depend on illegal immigrants voting for them.”

Later that evening, she commented on an interaction with fellow Congresswoman Virginia Foxx. In her post dated January 22, 2026, Mace stated, “Congresswoman Virginia Foxx came up to us and goes, ‘What are you bad girls up to?’ Love this woman with all my heart.”

On January 23, 2026, Mace announced the introduction of new legislation regarding tax policy for recreational vessels. She posted: “INTRODUCING: The No Tax on Boat Loan Interest Act. This bill expands the above-the-line tax deduction for interest on car loans established in the One Big Beautiful Bill to apply to American-made recreational vessels. This will allow American families to deduct up to $10,000”.

Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
