Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, posted a series of tweets on January 13 and 14, 2026, addressing developments in high-profile legal cases and expressing her views on justice for survivors.

On January 13, Mace highlighted the involvement of a local resident in a national case: “A Hilton Head Island woman has come forward as Jane Doe 4 in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein case. We forced a vote to release the Epstein files because survivors deserve transparency. Because justice delayed is justice denied. Because powerful people should not be allowed to hide” (January 13, 2026).

Later that day, she commented on newly released records regarding South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office: ” BREAKING: FOIA records exposing Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office Alan Wilson dismissed 32 child sex crime cases in one year, citing ‘insufficient evidence.’ 79–84% of cases end in plea deals. Jury trials? Zero to three per year statewide. The backlog has exploded” (January 13, 2026).

On January 14, Mace thanked Governor McMaster for his actions with another statement: “Thank you, Governor McMaster, for holding the line. Real men protect women.” (January 14, 2026).

Mace has represented South Carolina’s coastal region since succeeding Joe Cunningham in Congress and previously served in the state legislature from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
