U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, posted a series of updates on March 30, 2026, covering local outreach, animal welfare policy changes, and federal funding for law enforcement.
In the first post of the day, Mace highlighted an office visit by a constituent: “One of our constituents, Ben Steen from Furman University, stopped by our D.C. office to interview us for a class project. We’d say he deserves an A.” (March 30, 2026).
Later that afternoon, Mace commented on recent developments at the Food and Drug Administration regarding animal testing practices: “JUST IN: The FDA is ending inhumane testing on beagles, chimpanzees, and other animals. This is a win for animals, a win for science, and a win for common sense. For too long, defenseless, voiceless animals have suffered in government labs while ‘science’ was used as an excuse” (March 30, 2026).
That evening she announced new federal support secured for local law enforcement: “MACE WIN: We helped to secure a $625,000 federal grant for the Summerville Police Department. This funding will be used to hire more officers and expand their department as Summerville continues to rapidly grow. The Summerville Police Department has met every single one of these” (March 30, 2026).
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st district since being elected to Congress in 2021 after serving in the state House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. In addition to her legislative work and public outreach activities such as those described above, she holds a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel.
