U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district and resides in Charleston, addressed several topics on her social media account on March 9, 2026.
In a post published at 16:23 UTC, Mace announced federal funding for local safety initiatives, stating, “MACE WIN: The City of Charleston has been awarded a federal Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant to improve pedestrian safety in downtown Charleston. We supported this application from the start, providing a letter of support to USDOT to help Charleston secure this”.
Later that day at 17:57 UTC, she commented on public discourse regarding protestors and security threats, writing, “According to Zohran, protesters are white suprematists, but two radical islamists with explosives aren’t considered terrorists. Right….”
At 18:15 UTC on the same day, Mace reported on legislative action in Congress concerning criminal justice policy in Washington D.C., posting, “We voted YES to Rep. Elise Stefanik ’s District of Columbia Cash Bail Reform Act of 2025 to restore accountability and protect public safety in our nation’s capital. The erosion of law and order begins when violent offenders face no real consequences. This legislation corrects”.
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and holds a degree from The Citadel earned in 1999. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, Mace is currently based in Charleston.
