Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media account on January 17, 2026, to outline her legislative priorities and recent accomplishments.
In a post made at 19:22 UTC, Mace stated: “What guides me is simple: moral clarity, deep conviction, and legislation I stand behind without reservation. I swore an oath to protect the people I serve. That promise is not negotiable.”
Later that evening at 20:15 UTC, she announced the reintroduction of specific legislation aimed at federal facilities: “We reintroduced the Protecting Women’s Private Spaces Act to ensure women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and other private facilities on federal property remain sex-specific and protected. Women and girls should not be asked to surrender their safety or privacy to satisfy radical”
At 22:15 UTC on the same day, Mace highlighted funding achievements for education and workforce development in her district: “MACE WIN: Delivering real results for students and workers. More than $18 million secured to strengthen education and workforce development across the Lowcountry. Mace has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She succeeded Joe Cunningham in representing South Carolina’s 1st District in Washington. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, Mace currently resides in Charleston and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel.
