Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on January 11, 2026, highlighting legislative efforts related to survivors’ rights, food safety, and fisheries protection.

In her first post at 2:45 a.m., Mace stated: “Our Preventing Prosecutors from Protecting Predators Act is more than legislation—it’s deeply personal. No survivor should ever endure abuse or exploitation only to be failed a second time by prosecutors who refuse to do their jobs. This legislation is about accountability,” referencing her commitment to legal reforms aimed at supporting survivors of abuse.

Later that morning at 12:00 p.m., she addressed concerns about food industry regulations and federal guidelines with another tweet: “The Trump administration is launching its 2026 MAHA initiatives to address decades of failure that have put our children at risk and allowed Big Food to operate without consequence.. For too long, Washington-backed guidelines pushed ultra-processed junk with little nutritional”. In this message, she criticized existing policies and expressed support for new federal initiatives targeting nutrition standards.

At 5:15 p.m., Mace shared news about local industry support for her fisheries legislation: “MACE WIN: Texas shrimpers back our Protect American Fisheries Act! ‘The Texas Shrimp Association strongly endorses the Protect American Fisheries Act of 2025 re-introduced by South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace which will amend the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation”. She emphasized endorsement from the Texas Shrimp Association for her bill seeking amendments to national fishery conservation law.

Nancy Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham as representative for South Carolina’s 1st district. Prior to her congressional tenure, she was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 through 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and now residing in Charleston, Mace holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel (1999).
