Nancy Mace highlights military merit legislation and veterans’ care protections

U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, addressed several legislative priorities and national issues in a series of posts on May 15, 2026.

In a statement regarding military policy, Mace wrote: “America’s military is the strongest fighting force in the world and we refuse to let woke politics chip away at its strength. We introduced the Restoring Merit in the Military Act, legislation to ensure all military personnel decisions are based solely on merit, fitness,” (May 15, 2026).

Turning attention to child trafficking and abuse linked to high-profile individuals, she posted: “The Epstein files are not just a headline. They are not just a scandal. They are not just a political story. We are talking about children. Young girls who were trafficked, abused, and silenced by some of the most powerful and well-connected people in the world.” (May 15, 2026).

On veteran healthcare infrastructure, Mace highlighted bipartisan efforts with: “Our veterans should never have to worry about floodwaters shutting down their care. We introduced the VA Flood Preparedness Act, a bipartisan bill aimed at strengthening the protection of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities against flooding and rising sea” (May 15, 2026).

Mace has served as U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 1st district since defeating Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
