U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, shared a series of legislative updates and personal statements on her official Twitter account on December 2, 2025.

In her first post at 19:30 UTC, Mace addressed government spending on software licenses. She wrote, “Your tax dollars shouldn’t pay for duplicate software. The SAMOSA Act requires agencies to finally count what they buy, cut unused licenses, and modernize outdated systems. No more waste. No more blank checks.”

Later that evening at 20:45 UTC, Mace announced new legislation aimed at protecting survivors of domestic violence from certain tax liabilities. She stated, “INTRODUCING: The Tax Fairness for Abuse Survivors Act. When survivors of domestic violence break free, the IRS shouldn’t be waiting on the other side of the door. This legislation shields survivors from being forced to shoulder the tax debts of the very people who abused”.

At 21:35 UTC on the same day, Mace posted a strong statement regarding an unnamed individual or case: “We said what we said, and we meant EVERY syllable. This monster DOES NOT DESERVE TO LIVE.”

Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham as representative for South Carolina’s 1st district and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
