Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on May 11, 2026, highlighting law enforcement appreciation, Coast Guard funding in Charleston, and congressional sexual harassment settlements.
In her first post at 15:30 UTC, Mace recognized the work of law enforcement officers during National Police Week. She wrote: “One week is not enough to recognize what law enforcement officers do every single day. These are the men and women who put on a uniform knowing the risks and show up anyway. They run toward danger so the rest of us do not have to. They leave their families every morning not” (May 11, 2026).
Later that afternoon at 18:01 UTC, she announced new federal investment for the U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston: “HUGE win for the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard Base Charleston. The USCG is moving forward with a $212 million investment for Base Charleston. The funding comes directly from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, legislation we supported, which secured $25 billion for the” (May 11, 2026).
That evening at 21:00 UTC, Mace addressed findings from an ongoing investigation into congressional sexual harassment settlements: “Today we received another set of documents from our subpoena motion of the congressional sexual harassment slush fund. $220,000 of YOUR tax dollars was used to settle a sexual harassment claim against former Congressman Alcee Hastings. Mace has served in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously held office in South Carolina’s House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
