Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, addressed issues related to infrastructure and legislative priorities in a series of posts on May 7, 2026.

In one post, Mace highlighted the state’s rapid population growth and infrastructure challenges, stating on May 7, “South Carolina is the fastest growing state in the country, and it cannot afford to grow on crumbling infrastructure.” Later that evening, she reiterated concerns about road conditions with another post: “South Carolina has a pothole problem.”

Turning to national legislative matters, Mace emphasized the importance of the SAVE America Act. On May 7, she posted: “The integrity of our democracy is counting on the SAVE America Act being passed.

The future of our country is counting on the SAVE America Act being passed.

The preservation of our Constitution and our values is counting on the SAVE America Act being passed.

Mace’s focus on infrastructure comes as South Carolina continues to experience significant population increases. As a former member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and an alumna of The Citadel (class of 1999), Mace brings both state-level experience and local perspective to her congressional role. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she succeeded Joe Cunningham in Congress after winning election in 2021.
