Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district, shared several messages on her social media account on October 13, 2025, addressing topics ranging from federal funding for medical procedures to national defense and scientific research.

In a post early that morning, Mace wrote, “Not one dime of your paycheck should go to m*tilating children.” (October 13, 2025).

Later that day, she commemorated the anniversary of a military branch, stating, “Happy 250th birthday to the United States Navy! Thank you all for your service, past and present, and for defending our freedom from the seas.” (October 13, 2025).

In another post, Mace addressed concerns about scientific research and public safety, writing, “COVID taught us the danger of reckless gain-of-function experiments. We prohibited the Dept. of War from funding gain-of-function research in the House-Passed NDAA. No more taxpayer dollars for risky experiments which could spark the next pandemic.” (October 13, 2025).

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021, following her tenure in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace is an alumna of The Citadel, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
