U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in Congress, posted a series of statements on November 3, 2025, on her official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding an incident at the Charleston Airport involving airport security.
In her first post at 16:49 UTC, Mace announced her intention to make public personal communications with airport officials: “Getting ready to release personal text messages between myself and the Charleston Airport. I won’t tolerate incompetence or lies – I don’t care WHO YOU ARE. HOLD THE LINE.”
She followed up at 16:55 UTC with a timeline of events that morning, stating: “6:34 AM: ‘Officers are waiting.’ 6:51 AM: No officers in sight upon Rep. Mace’s arrival. 7:00 AM: ‘We have her.’ What happened during those 26 minutes? Where was Charleston Airport security? What were they doing?”
Later that hour, she described efforts by herself and staff to contact airport security during the incident, posting at 17:29 UTC: “Between me and my staff, we tried calling Charleston Airport Security 4 times Thursday morning, October 30, 2025 when they didn’t show up. None of our calls were answered.”
Mace has served in the U.S. Congress since defeating Joe Cunningham in the November 2020 election and taking office in January 2021. She previously represented a district in the South Carolina House from 2018 to 2020 and is known for being one of The Citadel’s earliest female graduates.
Additional biographical details include that she was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston.
