U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who has represented South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, posted a series of statements on December 7, 2025, addressing issues related to veterans’ affairs software, federal benefit fraud, and the handling of migrant children at the border.
In her first post at 19:30 UTC, Mace highlighted concerns about outdated technology in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). She wrote, “The VA is running on outdated software from the 1990s and our veterans are paying the price. Our H.R.3455 brings modern innovation to the VA to boost security, speed, and accountability. Later that evening at 20:05 UTC, Mace addressed fraud within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), citing data from the Department of Agriculture. She stated, “The Department of Agriculture data uncovered the EXTREME SNAP fraud happening in our country. 186,000 dead people receiving benefits 500,000 people collecting SNAP in more than one state 226,000 fraudulent claims in just one quarter 691,000 unauthorized transactions, a”.
At 22:15 UTC on the same day, Mace criticized the Biden Administration’s management of unaccompanied minors at the U.S.-Mexico border. She posted, “The Biden Administration lost track of over 320,000 children at the border. Mace has served as a member of Congress since defeating Joe Cunningham in 2021 after previously serving in South Carolina’s House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
