U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district, posted a series of messages on her social media accounts this week reflecting on the recent passing of her father and expressing gratitude for the support her family has received.
On April 17, 2026, Mace announced her father’s death in a public statement: “December 12, 1940 – April 14, 2026
My father lived 85 extraordinary years on this earth. Everything I am, every ounce of fight in me, came from him. He taught me what it meant to love this country, to stand for something, and to never back down. He showed me what real strength https://t.co/jb3lX4NlTB“.
Later that same day, she responded to condolences with another message: “Thank you Art. Very kind. https://t.co/Hf7efVlcqT” (April 17, 2026).
The following morning, Mace shared appreciation for the community’s support: “Our family has been moved by the kindness shown to us this week. The messages, scripture, and stories so many of you shared have brought us real comfort. We are grateful – more than words can say.” (April 18, 2026).
