U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district, posted a series of messages on September 11, 2025, reflecting on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and responding to threats reportedly made against her office.
In a post published at 11:30 a.m. UTC, Mace wrote: “24 years later, we haven’t forgotten. We will Never Forget.
September 11, 2001, was an attack on freedom, faith, and the very soul of our nation. In the face of terror, America came together and stood strong.
Thank you to the FDNY, NYPD, EMS, and all first responders: for your https://t.co/ApMkB7wLyV“
Later that day at 1:24 p.m. UTC, she addressed alleged threats directed at her congressional office: “The calls to our office from Democrats this morning are evil. Vile. Unhinged. The devil’s work.
Call our office and you will be recorded and you will be reported for the threats you are making on a Member of Congress.
PRAY FOR CHARLIE KIRK. PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY.”
Just seconds after her previous message, Mace added another statement regarding a recent tragedy: “Now, a mother will have to try to explain to her two children why their dad was murdered, for telling the truth.”
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham; prior to her current role she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 through 2020 (source: https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/M001206). Born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston (source: https://www.nancy mace.house.gov/about), she is also known as one of the first women graduates from The Citadel military college (class of 1999).
Her posts coincide with ongoing political tensions nationwide as lawmakers continue to address security concerns surrounding members of Congress and reflect on national tragedies such as September 11.
