U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st congressional district, posted a series of tweets on September 17, 2025, targeting fellow Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. The tweets included direct accusations and comments regarding Omar’s personal life and her role in American politics.

In her first post at 15:37 UTC, Mace wrote, “Bold coming from someone who allegedly married her brother.”

Minutes later, at 15:41 UTC, she added another message: “Please take your brother husband with you and stay there. Signed, The American People”

Later that afternoon at 16:15 UTC, Mace continued with a third tweet stating: “Love America or leave it, Ilhan Omar.”

Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in the U.S. Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and is an alumna of The Citadel, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, Mace currently resides in Charleston.

The remarks by Rep. Mace are part of ongoing tensions between members of Congress over political and personal issues.
