U.S. Representative Nancy Mace, who serves South Carolina’s 1st district, has called for former Attorney General Pam Bondi to comply with a congressional subpoena related to the Department of Justice.
On April 8, 2026, Rep. Mace posted on her official account: “JUST IN: We’re asking Chairman Comer urging him to publicly reaffirm former Attorney General Pam Bondi’s legal obligation to appear for her deposition. Later that day, she reiterated her position, stating: “Pam Bondi cannot escape accountability simply because she no longer holds the office of Attorney General. Our motion to subpoena Pam Bondi, which was passed by the Oversight Committee, was for Bondi by name, not by title. She will still have to appear before the Oversight” (April 8, 2026).
In a third post on April 8, Mace commented on the expectations for federal law enforcement: “The American people deserve a Department of Justice doing exactly what its name promises: delivering justice.”
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace is an alumna of The Citadel, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
