Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, addressed several legislative and political topics in a series of posts on May 23, 2026.
In one post, Mace highlighted her efforts to protect animals in research settings, stating: “We introduced the PAAW Act to prohibit the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from conducting or funding research causing significant pain or distress to dogs and cats. Later that day, she posted a message regarding former President Donald Trump, “Pray for President Trump right now. https://t.co/w5Jt3HmyEH” (May 23, 2026).
Addressing elder care and financial security issues, Mace also wrote, “Some of the most vulnerable people in America are seniors living under guardianship. They depend on their Social Security benefits to survive. And right now, there is no federal system in place to make sure those benefits are going to the right people. Mace has served as South Carolina’s 1st District representative since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. Before joining Congress, she was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
