Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account on March 27, 2026, addressing issues related to border security funding, voter ID laws, and her own political record.
In her first post on March 27, Mace criticized the Senate for not providing funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP), writing: “President Donald Trump is right again, the Senate’s failure to fund ICE or CBP is ridiculous. America has President Trump to thank for stepping in to pay TSA agents while the Senate held their paychecks hostage. We will stay in Washington as long as it takes to reopen ALL of https://t.co/59k6vLK8Qc”.
Later that day, she questioned opposition to voter identification requirements with a brief statement: “We have yet to hear one REAL reason to not mandate voter ID.”
In a third post on March 27, Mace referenced what she described as vindication for her positions: “Classic Mace vindication: https://t.co/Cu5wohgsfo”.
Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham. Before her tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, she was a member of the South Carolina House from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, Mace currently resides in Charleston and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel, earned in 1999.
