Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district, addressed several issues on her official Twitter account on March 23, 2026, including party accountability, local priorities in Hilton Head Island, and condolences following a fatal accident at LaGuardia Airport.

In a post published at 01:30 UTC, Mace emphasized the importance of impartiality within her party: “As Republicans, it is important for us to hold people accountable, no matter their position or party. We trust President Trump’s judgment and decision-making. He has done a fantastic job so far leading us in the right direction.”

Later that morning at 11:30 UTC, she highlighted community engagement efforts on Hilton Head Island: “Hilton Head Island is not just a destination. It is home to thousands of South Carolinians with real needs and real priorities. Our office met with Communications Director Heather Woolwine to discuss key issues like workforce, housing, childcare, and the Hilton Head Island”.

Shortly after noon at 12:50 UTC, Mace responded to news of an aviation tragedy: “We are devastated hearing about the tragic runway collision at LaGuardia Airport, leaving two pilots dead and dozens of passengers injured. This morning, we’re praying for the victims, their families, and the first responders who rushed in to help. May God provide strength”.

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020 and holds a degree from The Citadel earned in 1999. Born in Fort Bragg in 1977, she currently resides in Charleston.
