Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, posted several updates on October 9, 2025, addressing legal, healthcare, and international issues.
In her first post of the day, Mace commented on the decision by South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson to seek a special prosecutor in the Scott Spivey case. She wrote, “BREAKING: South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has finally called for a special prosecutor to review the Scott Spivey case, months after his office had already dismissed it. If Alan Wilson had done his job from day one, we wouldn’t need a “special prosecutor” today.” (October 9, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Mace highlighted concerns about the state’s nursing workforce. She stated, “South Carolina is projected to have the 7th-largest nursing shortage in the country by 2036, with one in five RN positions unfilled statewide. We supported a $3.87 million federal grant for the University of South Carolina Beaufort to help train and retain more nurses right here” (October 9, 2025).
In an evening post regarding international affairs and Middle East peace efforts, Mace praised former President Trump’s actions. She said, “Today, families in Israel are one step closer to peace, thanks to President Trump’s unwavering commitment to stability in the Middle East. PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH. His leadership inspires hope and reminds us what’s possible when faith and courage guide the way. Blessed are the” (October 9, 2025).
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace graduated from The Citadel in 1999.
