Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on her social media accounts this week, including support for storm-impacted South Carolinians, a federal law enforcement bill, and criticism of leadership in Minnesota.
On January 26, 2026, Mace posted a message expressing concern for those affected by severe weather: “We are praying for the upstate and all South Carolinians impacted by this weekend’s storm. Thank you to our first responders who have been working around the clock, our emergency management personnel, public works crews and our linemen for stepping up when South Carolina needs” (January 26, 2026).
Later that day, she announced her vote in favor of new legislation concerning federal law enforcement officers: “We voted YES on the Federal Law Enforcement Officer Service Weapon Purchase Act of 2025 to allow qualified federal law enforcement officers to buy their retired duty firearms at a fair price, instead of having them destroyed or wasted. The men and women who carried these weapons” (January 26, 2026).
In another post on January 27, Mace commented on recent unrest in Minnesota: “This isn’t the first time Minnesota has burned under Tim Walz’s watch. In Democrat run cities, lawlessness is tolerated and law enforcement is undermined.” (January 27, 2026).
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District since 2021 after succeeding Joe Cunningham. She previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
