Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on her social media account on January 14, 2026, addressing oversight actions and legislative efforts concerning immigration records and justice for abuse survivors.
In a post published at 2:55 a.m. UTC, Mace wrote: “The moment we moved to subpoena Ilhan Omar and her brother’s immigration records. For years, serious questions have surrounded Omar’s immigration history and alleged marriage fraud. Oversight exists for moments exactly like this. The American people deserve the truth. NO ONE is”.
Later that day, at 1:56 p.m., she commented on a bill she had recently filed: “Last week I filed a bill to scrutinize tax dollars sent to prosecute child abuse, domestic violence, and assault, by Attorney Generals and Solicitors. Some will ask why. I say: Ask the children whose cases gather dust while their abusers walk free. Ask those who’ve been told”.
At 2:14 p.m., Mace followed up with another post about language surrounding abuse cases and ongoing legislative work: “I don’t know who needs to hear this, actually, I do, but calling someone who beats his wife a ‘wife beater’ is a statement of fact. Not defamation. Fact. Drafting legislation based on failures in our justice system and working to protect children and survivors of abuse? That’s”.
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the state House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and resides in Charleston. Mace earned her bachelor’s degree from The Citadel in 1999.
