Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media between April 4 and April 5, 2026, addressing issues ranging from tax fairness for abuse survivors to transparency on high-profile investigations and support for American troops.
On April 4, Mace highlighted the challenges faced by women leaving abusive situations in relation to federal tax obligations. She stated: “Too many women who escape dangerous situations end up buried in IRS notices for taxes they never knew were owed, facing penalties for infractions they did not commit, and being held liable for returns signed under duress. We introduced the Tax Fairness for Abuse Survivors Act to https://t.co/FpHXrlbfwM” (April 4, 2026).
The following day, Mace reiterated her commitment to government accountability regarding ongoing investigations related to Jeffrey Epstein. In a tweet dated April 5 she wrote: “Our subpoena stands. The American people deserve answers on the Epstein files: no redactions, no cover-ups. We will NEVER back down on survivors, and we will do everything in our power to ensure they get justice and predators are held to the fullest extent of the law.”
Later that day, Mace commented on reports involving an F15 rescue operation and called for prayers for military personnel involved. She posted: “The United States does not abandon the men and women who answer its call. Not on the battlefield. Not ever. Many unconfirmed reports on the F15 rescue and evacuation operation tonight – please PRAY for our soldiers – and all American troops in harms way. Please PRAY for the safe” (April 5, 2026).
Nancy Mace has served as U.S. Representative since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 after previously serving in South Carolina’s House of Representatives from 2018 through 2020. Born at Fort Bragg in North Carolina in 1977, she is currently based in Charleston and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel (1999).
