Congresswoman Nancy Mace of South Carolina’s 1st District issued a statement regarding the charges brought against Judge Gosnell. Mace said, “Not only are these charges horrific, they expose a deep and dangerous failure within South Carolina’s judicial system. We fully support the death penalty for anyone who rapes children. No one, not even a judge, is above the law.”
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, after succeeding Joe Cunningham. Before her time in Congress, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Mace is 45 years old and currently lives in Charleston. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel in 1999.
