Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) issued a statement on February 28, 2026, addressing recent events in Iran. In her statement, she condemned the actions of the Iranian government and called for global attention to the situation.

“The Iranian regime has slaughtered thousands of its own people in recent days, men, women, and children, whose only crime was asking for freedom. Tyrants and terrorists everywhere should take note: the world is watching. History is watching. We must not forget what is happening in Iran. We must not turn a blind eye. History does not forgive those who look away from massacre,” Mace said.

Mace has been serving as the U.S. Representative for South Carolina’s 1st District since 2021, after replacing Joe Cunningham that year. Before her current role in Congress, she served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020.

Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, Mace is currently 45 years old and resides in Charleston. She graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
