Rep. Nancy Mace, a member of the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district, reported on March 12, 2026, that she had left Israel on a rescue flight carrying American citizens. The series of statements were posted to her official Twitter account as she described her recent efforts in the Middle East.
In her first tweet, Mace wrote, “I left Israel last night on a rescue flight full of Americans. I originally went to the Middle East because there was a South Carolina family who was stranded. And because when your people are stranded in a war zone getting hit with missiles and rockets, the only answer worthy https://t.co/v7TJssPb65” (March 12, 2026).
She continued by expressing gratitude to organizations that assisted during her trip: “I also want to thank Heroes 4 Humanity and Untrafficked for operational security while I was on the ground, and for keeping me alive. You are truly doing the Lord’s work in the spiritual battle between good and evil. “ (March 12, 2026).
In another message posted shortly after, Mace called for additional support for evacuation efforts: “AMERICAN CITIZENS NEED HELP EVACUATING If we can get more planes or get money for more planes, we can evacuate every single remaining American. DM or text 843.475.9139 – if any airline can donate a plane to fly transatlantic – or if there is money to charter the flights” (March 12, 2026).
Mace has served in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously represented constituents in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston at age 45. Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
