Rep. Nancy Mace, U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, posted a series of updates on May 14, 2026, addressing local infrastructure investments, water system challenges, and national security concerns.

In her first post on May 14 at 01:30 UTC, Mace announced significant federal funding for Charleston’s Coast Guard Base: “We supported a $212 MILLION investment awarded to the Coast Guard Base here in Charleston to completely rebuild their pier and deliver a brand new 30,000 square foot Medical and Dental Facility. Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act which we supported, $25 billion was secured”.

We covered PFAS regulations, how the Lowcountry’s rapid growth and unique coastal geography strain the water system, and where our office can step in and deliver for them in”.

On national security matters at 14:31 UTC, Mace commented on Middle East diplomacy efforts: “Iran was close to getting a nuclear weapon. President Trump has always said national security is number one. You cannot have peace in the Middle East with a nuclear Iran. Troops have not been put on the ground. A ceasefire is in place. Mace has served as South Carolina’s 1st District representative since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 after previously serving in the state House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston, she graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
