Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on December 31, 2025, highlighting her positions on local law enforcement policies, federal nutrition assistance reforms, and funding for nursing education.
On December 31, Mace referenced past efforts to address local law enforcement cooperation with federal immigration authorities. She wrote, “THROWBACK: We were the only ones willing to speak up when the Lowcountry had a sanctuary sheriff. In @GOPOversight, we called out Kristin Graziano for refusing to cooperate with ICE and releasing criminal illegal immigrants back onto South Carolina streets. Later that day, she addressed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), stating “The Trump administration is exposing SNAP abuse. Our FAIR Act shuts it down by requiring photo ID on every EBT card. The free ride is OVER. “ (posted at 12:00 UTC).
In another post regarding healthcare workforce development, Mace announced support for a significant grant: “MACE WIN: We helped support a $3.87 million federal grant awarded to @USCB to combat the statewide nursing shortage, putting more trained nurses on the frontlines of care across the Lowcountry. Mace has served in Congress since 2021 after replacing Joe Cunningham and previously held office in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
