Rep. Nancy Mace, U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district, posted a series of updates on December 12, 2025, highlighting major infrastructure funding and addressing ongoing threats to her safety.
In an early morning post, Mace announced significant federal support for local projects: “MACE WIN: We secured the largest SCDOT grant in South Carolina history, and more than $400 million in federal grants for the Lowcountry. These aren’t political talking points. They’re game-changing infrastructure projects which will ease traffic, improve safety, and support” (December 12, 2025).
Later that day, she shared details related to her victim impact statement regarding an ongoing criminal case: “Congresswoman Mace’s full victim impact statement to be read aloud during Samuel Cain’s third bond hearing today:
Your Honor,
Thank you for allowing this statement to be presented. I offer it today knowing this is now the third bond hearing for the defendant, Samuel Theodore” (December 12, 2025).
In a subsequent update about the same case, Mace described escalating threats against her: “Samuel Cain’s threat to assassinate me has purportedly worsened behind bars. I requested the judge hold him without bond today.
According to a jailhouse informant who came forward, Cain was asked during a discussion about the recent assassination of conservative activist” (December 12, 2025).
Nancy Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since 2021 after serving in the state House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. She was born in Fort Bragg in 1977 and currently resides in Charleston. Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
