Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents South Carolina’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing local student opportunities and federal policy proposals.

On February 16, 2026, Mace encouraged high school students from her district to participate in a national art competition: “SC01 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: The 2026 Congressional Art Competition is underway! Your art can be displayed inside the Capitol to represent our district and the creative potential of our students. Later that day, she highlighted proposed legislation targeting cities she described as prioritizing “mob rule over law and order.” She wrote: “Our Lawless Cities Accountability Act cuts every federal dollar from blue cities choosing mob rule over law and order. If you let rioters torch your streets, refuse federal law enforcement assistance, or defund or disempower your police, you don’t get a dime from Washington.” (posted February 16, 2026).

In another post on February 17, Mace commented on recent developments within her party: “Another one bites the dust. This is what happens when a handful of brave Republicans break rank and refuse to let the powerful hide.” (posted February 17, 2026).

Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021. Before serving in Congress, she was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and currently residing in Charleston at age 45, Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999.
