Rep. Nancy Mace, a U.S. Congresswoman representing South Carolina’s 1st district since 2021, shared updates on her recent activities and concerns via her social media account in late January 2026.
On January 23, Mace posted about her experience in a South Carolina court: “Today, I stood in front of a judge representing myself, and won. A South Carolina state court attempted to silence a sitting Member of Congress with an unconstitutional and unenforceable gag order for doing my job and speaking out. Instead of backing down, I pushed back. I”. The post highlights her claim that the court’s actions were an attempt to limit her ability to speak as an elected official.
In another message dated January 24, Mace addressed community needs during winter weather by providing information on local warming shelters: “With the upcoming winter weather and cold fronts, here’s a list of warming shelters around the district: Community Resource Center (daytime warming center) 3947 Whipper Barony Lane, North Charleston Holy City Missions at Aldersgate Methodist Church (open Monday) 1444”.
Later on January 24, she commented on protests in Minneapolis: “Protesters in Minneapolis are openly calling for armed resistance against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This is what happens after years of Democrats calling federal agents Nazis and telling them to “get the f— out.””.
Mace has represented South Carolina’s 1st congressional district since defeating Joe Cunningham in 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 to 2020. Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977, she currently resides in Charleston. She is also a graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree earned in 1999.
