Congresswoman Nancy Mace said on Mar. 26 that she supports President Trump’s decision to sign an emergency order to ensure Transportation Security Administration agents are paid during the ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown led by Democrats.

The issue concerns the impact of the shutdown on federal workers, specifically TSA agents who have continued working without pay. Mace said, “TSA agents show up every single day to keep American travelers safe.” She added, “They don’t deserve their paychecks being held hostage. President Trump made sure it didn’t happen.”

Mace criticized House Democrats over a recent funding bill, saying, “The House passed a bill to support full funding for DHS. Every Republican voted yes. Over 95% of Democrats voted no, choosing to sacrifice TSA paychecks for politics.” She further stated, “The Left fights harder to protect illegal immigrants than to fund hardworking Americans.” Mace concluded her statement with gratitude: “Thank you, President Trump, for always putting American workers first.”

Mace is currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing South Carolina’s 1st district after replacing Joe Cunningham in 2021 according to Wikipedia. She has served in Congress since 2021 and previously served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2018 through 2020 as reported by Ballotpedia.

Born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in 1977 and now living in Charleston according to her congressional biography, Mace graduated from The Citadel with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 as noted by The Citadel.
