Six student-athletes from the College of Charleston equestrian team received National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) All-Academic honors, the conference announced on Apr. 8.
These academic awards recognize outstanding performance in the classroom by student-athletes involved in collegiate equestrian sports. Such recognition highlights the balance between athletics and academics achieved by these students.
Sophomore Kenda Murray, juniors Camilla Murray and Lainie Rubin, and seniors Maddi Cardelli and Olivia Lonneman earned First Team All-Academic honors. Senior Olivia Welsh was named an Honorable Mention. In addition to their All-Academic selections, Cardelli, Lonneman, Camilla Murray, and Kenda Murray were also placed on the NCEA Honor Roll.
The College of Charleston Cougars are currently seeded third in the NCEA Single Discipline National Championship and are set to compete against second-seeded Dartmouth in the semifinals on April 17-18 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.
